High Line Hotel Weddings

If you’re looking for something truly unique, and old world New York, there are very few experiences in the wedding world that can compare to a wedding at the High Line Hotel. This High Line Hotel wedding reception was held in the refectory. Almost gothic in nature, it’s beautifully stunning ambience was enhanced by this phenomenal decor. The room was filled with candlelight, and the dramatic effect was remarkable. It was perfect for a photographer like myself who enjoys juxtaposing shadows and highlights. This image, taken during a toast by one of the couple’s dear friends, was created with an off camera SB5000 Nikon Speedlite and triggered with an WR-R10/WR-A10 wireless radio adapter while my assistant was holding off to the right. That’s what created the texture, and I balances the flash with the ambient light by controlling the speed of my camera shutter. The entire goal of this image was to capture the couple in the most natural way possible, and keep the feel of the candlelight throughout the entire room. I wish I had the chance to shoot more weddings at the High Line Hotel, and in particular, this refectory. I captured the image with my Nikon D5 Camera and my Nikkor 24-120mm F4 lens. I really must add that it was one of the most beautiful rooms I've had the privilege of shooting in!
