I’ve had the good fortune of shooting many, many weddings at the Ritz Carlton Philadelphia over the past few 15 years or so. Ritz Carlton Philadelphia Weddings have a wonderful, city vibe, and it’s right in the heart of the Avenue of the Arts. There are so many advantages of having a wedding at the Ritz Carlton in Philadelphia, not the least of which is it’s proximity to Philadelphia’s City Hall. The largest, free standing masonry structure in the world, it’s majestic presence looms as one of the most stunning backdrops in Philadelphia. It’s proximity to multiple ceremony venues is also another advantage. This image of Stephanie and Michael, who had their wedding at the Ritz Carlton Philadelphia, was taken at St. George Greek Orthodox Church at 256 South 8th St., Philadelphia, Pa. This image is lit with all natural lighting, and was shot with my Nikon D5, my Nikkor 105mm F1.4E ED lens. After the ceremony, we had the chance to shoot in various locations near the Ritz Carlton Philadelphia, and found our way back for the cocktail hour and reception. Anytime I have the opportunity to shoot Ritz Carlton Philadelphia weddings, we’ve also taken a moment to head outside for a lovely shot in the evening with City Hall as a background. It’s drama is unparalleled within the city, as the Avenue of the Arts lights up with stunning colors, and the energy from the cars and pedestrians yelling "congratulations" is always a hoot. I’m thrilled to have been their photographer, and look forward to the next time I have the chance to work at the Philadelphia Ritz!
