This was my first Rockleigh Country Club Indian wedding, but I couldn’t think of a better couple to photograph than Poonam and Michael. While there are many moving parts to Indian weddings, The Rockleigh staff ran this show flawlessly. The day included a barat, a Hindu ceremony, a western ceremony, and of course, a reception. it was a 16 hour day, but it flew by like it was nothing. As a photographer, I was lucky enough to shoot a few different portrait sessions with this lovely couple because Poonam changed gowns 3 times, not atypical for an Indian bride. I couldn’t have asked for better weather, or a better couple. Rockleigh Country Club weddings provide an incredibly diverse selection of locations for portraiture, and allowed me to capture a potpourri of scenarios for our couple.
From the Georgian style mansion, to the 12 acres of manicured grounds, The Rockleigh does everything with grandeur. Their cocktail hour, for example, was huge. It’s quite a spread, and there was no shortage of food for the guests. I also liked the size of the space, as nobody felt too crowded, and the reception area was also spacious which allowed for plenty of room for dancing. One of the other elements of The Rockleigh is that it's a family owned business. I believe it's one of the reasons the customer service is so darn good. They have a personal stake in providing a phenomenal experience to the families that trust them with one of the most important days of their life. In this image, Poonam, our bride, was preparing for her ceremony in one of the beautiful rooms at The Rockleigh.
