St. Thomas of Villanova Weddings

St. Thomas of Villanova, otherwise known as Villanova Chapel, provide alumni and their families the opportunity to have a magnificent church wedding while experiencing the intimacy and the bond of having the event on the grounds of their alma mater. It’s part of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, and it’s located on the campus at Villanova University.

The parish was opened in 1848, and it’s one of the oldest on the Philadelphia Main Line. The parish is associated with the Augustinians who arrived from Europe in 1796, and they founded St. Augustine’s church in Philadelphia, where I’ve shot many, many weddings, as well.

As far as I’m aware, the only couples that are able to have their weddings in this lovely church must be alumni of Villanova University. My clients who choose this venue need to book far in advance, as availability is scarce.

This image, taken in the vestibule at a St. Thomas of Villanova wedding, shows Ellie and her dad sharing a lovely moment just seconds before he escorts her down the aisle to greet her groom. I always try to wait until the last moments before a ceremony in order to capture the emotions between a bride and her father. It’s a great time during the event that usually sparks some kind of moment to capture.
