Same Sex Wedding Photography

I don't have the opportunity to shoot many same-sex weddings, I would love to have the chance to shoot more. This wedding at the Onteora Mountain House in Boiceville, New York, was one of my favorite weddings in recent memory.

Wedding photos at the Onteora Mountain House are always a pleasure to create because the rustic setting amongst the mountains provide me with a truly unique environment to capture.

It's also important that the chemistry between a couple is just right. This particular couple displayed so much love for one another, and their entire family displayed so much love for this couple, it was easy to make great pictures on this beautiful day in the Hudson Valley.

From the moment I met these women on their wedding day when I arrived for the bridal preparation to the end of the evening after the reception, I knew that I was making some of my favorite wedding photos in a very long time.

I have often said that I am only as good as my couples. Well, this is a phenomenal example of that saying. This image, captured just before the wedding ceremony, was captured during the ketubah signing before their Jewish wedding at the Onteora Mountain house.

Upon looking at this image it's obvious that this is an interracial couple. I love how their hands are clasped together, and I love how the shades of light skin and dark skin come together in contrast with one another. This is one of my favorite examples of wedding photojournalism and I hope this couple remembers it for years to come. I know I will.
