Union League Philadelphia Wedding Photos

Union League weddings in Philadelphia have been on the rise over the past few years. Couples looking for that something different- that alternative to hotel ballrooms- have been choosing the historic Union League of Philadelphia to provide that old-world, Philadelphia feel in an incredibly elegant setting.

One of my favorite aspects of weddings at the Union League of Philadelphia is the location of the building and its proximity to a wide assortment of fantastic places to shoot wedding photographs. From Juniper street and its leading lines and texture to the rustic walls inside the archways of City Hall, the Union League provides a variety of opportunities to create stunning wedding photographs.

The iconic staircases, pictured here, are a fantastic background for a first look, or they can be used as a simple setting for formal family photos. The entire corridor on Broad street gives me some phenomenal choices for my couples looking for something incredibly dramatic when it comes to wedding photography. I honestly never get tired of working there, and it’s one of my favorite venues to document my couples and families.

I captured this photograph with a Nikon D5 camera and my Nikkor 70-200mm F4.0 lens. It’s incredibly sharp, and it’s also lightweight, making it perfect for shooting bridal portraits in the daylight. It’s my go-to lens for daytime bridal and engagement portraits. I love the look on the bride’s face as she realizes her groom was sneaking behind her for their first look. The steps at the Union League of Philadelphia has once again provided a wonderful setting for wedding photographs.
